Not in the Business of Making Friends wins the Sunny Side of the Doc award at East Doc Platform 2024

East Doc Platform 2024 took place at the French Institute in Prague, from March 22-28, organized by the Institute of Documentary Film in association with the One World Film Festival. On this occasion, our team presented the Sunny Side of the Doc award to one of the selected projects for East Doc Forum 2024.

The award goes to Not in the Business of Making Friends, a Romanian documentary project pitched in the docuseries category. Directed by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and produced by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan and Elena Martin, the project wins the Sunny Side of the Doc Prize, which includes two free accreditations for Sunny Side of the Doc 2024 and a €500 Europe’s Got Talent! Grant* towards travel expenses.

*Europe’s Got Talent! is a grant program supported by Creative Europe Media and designed to encourage filmmakers from European countries that are less represented to participate in Sunny Side of the Doc’s activities.

East Doc Platform is the largest co-production, funding and distribution platform tailor-made for Central and East European documentaries, every year connecting East European filmmakers and decision makers - producers, broadcasters, distributors and festival programmers - from around the world.
