GENERAL QUESTIONS

The next edition of Sunny Side of the Doc (June 20-23, 2022) will take place in-person in La Rochelle. A digital extension will be available for those who would not be able to travel to France.
  • Projects Submission to pitch sessions: April 7, 2022 (11:59pm CEST/UTC+2)
  • PiXii Festival's Call for Entries: April 28, 2022 (11:59pm CEST/UTC+2)
  • Booths bookings: Mid-May, 2022
  • Registration of projects/programmes on the event platform: May 31, 2022
A Newcomer is a person whose company is participating for the first time in Sunny Side of the Doc.
A person is considered a Decision Maker when he or she occupies one of the following positions:                   
  • Channel managers, Heads of Programming, Commissioning Editors, Programme Managers, Heads of factual/co-production departments
  • Content Buyers / Acquisition Executives
  • Institutional decision-makers supporting television, cinema, multimedia doc projects.
  • Funding organizations, foundations, film commissions, established NGOs investing in television, cinema and multimedia doc projects.
  • Cultural stakeholders from Institutions, Museum, Heritage sites, LBE
Please note that your registration will be confirmed and free of charge only after final validation from the Sunny Side team.
A project is a documentary concept, one-off or serial, in development, production or post-production, still seeking new partners and/or sources of funding.
A program is a completed documentary in search of international sales or a buyer.
If you cannot attend the event, you can transfer your accreditation (once only) to someone in the same company. Please contact our sales team for further guidance.

MySUNNY SPACE

MySunny Space is a professional hub made at your disposal by Sunny Side of the Doc where you can perform different actions throughout the year: 
  • Buy accreditations for our events
  • Access to all our events throughout the year
  • Access a global community of professionals and contact them
  • Access online resources and content from our media library
  • Manage and update your professional profile and company credentials

PITCH SESSIONS

  • You need to purchase either a Pitch Submission or Full Pass prior to submit a project to the pitching sessions of Sunny Side of the Doc.
  • To complete a submission, you need to register your project and provide the information and documents described here by the deadline set on April 7, 2022 (11:59pm CEST/UTC+2).
  • Our team gets in touch with the projects holders to inform them of the selection or not of their stories by our jury.
  • If your project is selected, and you had submitted via the "Pitch Submission" product, you will have to register yourself to Sunny Side of the Doc to pitch.  
When your project is selected, you will be asked to record a 7-minute video pitch (trailer included) and send it to us. Your video pitch will be broadcasted on D-day in front of a panel of international decision-makers and then followed by a live 8-minute Q&A session. 
Our juries are made up of internationally renowned professionals: broadcasters, producers, distributors, etc.
  • The selection of projects for the pitching sessions is made by an anonymous jury.
  • The official jury members in charge of awarding projects at the event will be announced before the market.
If your project is not selected at the pitching sessions, no fees will be refunded.

EXHIBITION BOOTHS

You can view our booths options on our Eshop. For any quotation request, please contact our sales team directly.
The group stands are intended for delegations organized by associations, unions, national or regional institutions that bring together producers and distributors under a shared stand. Their members benefit from a preferential rate on our accreditations and a shared stand to organize their meetings during the event.

PASSES & E-SHOP

In order to purchase an accreditation for the event, you must first create an account on our professional area MySunny Space. You will then be able to purchase a Full Pass or an Online Pass directly from the Eshop section.
Accreditations are nominative. To buy more than one accreditation, you have login with your colleagues credentials.

PIXII FESTIVAL

In order to apply for this call, please follow the steps below and complete your entry before the deadline set on April 28, 2022 (11:59pm CEST/UTC+2):
 
  1. Login or create an account on MySunny Space.
  2. Go to the E-shop and add the product "PIXII CALL SUBMISSION " in your shopping cart.
  3. Once your order is finalized, you will be able to start filling in the application form related to this call.
If your installation is selected by the festival's jury, the organizers commits to provide you with the following elements:
  • Accommodation for 6 nights for only one (1) representative of the selected work
  • Full Pass accreditation for two (2) representatives of the selected work
  • Mediation by a member of the organization team at the venue during the event
The entire package is valued at €3,500. In addition, a preferential rate will be granted if additional passes are requested.
If your installation is selected to participate in PiXii Festival, it will be exhibited from Saturday June 18 to Thursday June 23, 2022 included. This exhibition is open to the general public during the 6 days (free entry) and to registered professionals for the duration of Sunny Side of the Doc (June 20, 21, 22 and 23, 2022).
