Day 3: A Celebration of Ideas, Connections and Community
The final day of Sunny Side of the Doc 2026 brought together documentary professionals from around the world for one last round of conversations, meetings and discoveries in La Rochelle.
From discussions on hyperdistribution and international co-production to exchanges on archives, new alliances and the evolving documentary landscape, Day 3 continued to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the future of factual storytelling.
Throughout the day, Meet & Match sessions, CoPro Hub meetings and informal encounters created new opportunities for collaboration, reinforcing the role of Sunny Side of the Doc as a space where projects, partnerships and ideas can grow.
As the event came to a close, the focus shifted from the programme to the people who make this community so unique. The closing moments were filled with emotion, bringing together participants from across the industry to celebrate the connections forged over the past three days. There were smiles, hugs, tears and heartfelt goodbyes—a powerful reminder that beyond the business, Sunny Side of the Doc is above all a community united by a shared passion for documentary storytelling.
