La Rochelle & São Paulo, 21 January 2026 - The Pitching Session are coming!

Selected through Sunny Side of the Doc’s proven expertise, the 18 projects showcase Latin America’s thriving documentary landscape with 60% women-led projects

LatAm Content Meeting, the industry event dedicated to the Latin American documentary and non-fiction content market, announces the 18 projects selected to take part in its 2026 pitching sessions. The application process, curation, and final selection were conducted for the second consecutive year by Sunny Side of the Doc, the international marketplace and community for documentary.

Building on the resounding success of the inaugural edition, this second call for projects saw a significant increase in submissions from Latin American filmmakers, with a stronger presence of non-fiction projects produced and released within the region. Notably, 60% of the selected projects are led by women, highlighting their essential role in contemporary documentary storytelling. The 2026 selection will bring new perspectives, powerful stories, and fresh voices to São Paulo, further strengthening the partnership between LatAm Content Meeting and Sunny Side of the Doc.

The 18 selected projects are divided into three thematic categories, with six entries in each: Nature & Environment; Investigations & True Crime; and History. In total, 120 submissions from 20 countries were received, with two-thirds originating from Latin America and one-third from the rest of the world, demonstrating both the regional strength and international appeal of this pitching opportunity.

For this second year of partnership, we remain fully committed to the LatAm Content Meeting, building on our successful first collaboration in 2025,"  [...]  "The first tangible feedback, including coproduction deals already signed by participating projects, proves the essential role of this collaboration. Our ongoing work with LCM guarantees producers privileged and uninterrupted access to our industry expertise and international network. In this period of transition, it is more important than ever for Sunny Side to facilitate connections between storytelling talent and international markets, particularly helping strong Latin American projects reach global audiences.”

says Aurélie Reman, Managing Director of Sunny Side of the Doc.

According to Fernando Dias, President of LatAm Content Meeting, the diversity and reach of the selected projects reflect the event’s consolidation on the international stage. “LatAm Content Meeting is establishing itself as the leading international market event in Latin America. The pitch selection highlights the event’s strong reach and success, with projects submitted from 20 countries. An international jury curated the projects, and during the event we will host pitch presentations for the world’s leading industry players.”

The pitching sessions will also feature awards offered by partner companies, aimed at supporting the development of the winning projects in each category. In the Nature & Environment category, Input Post will provide post-production services to the winning project, with a total value equivalent to R$35,000.
