description
As global audiences demand more authentic and diverse narratives, this panel explores how creative collaborations with storytellers from the Global South are reshaping the future of documentary and factual filmmaking. Bringing together filmmakers, producers, and cultural curators from Latin America, Africa, and Asia, we’ll spotlight powerful stories and shared experiences that address urgent global issues—from climate justice to cultural memory—while challenging extractive industry norms. With Europe playing a key role in co-productions and broadcast, this session is a call to build more equitable, innovative, and impactful partnerships – with allies in the Global North – that will define the next chapter of global independent cinema, broadcast and co-productions.
