description
The African continent continues to suffer from deeply rooted stereotypes embedded in our collective unconscious. Its history – and its stories – have long been told by others, often simplified or erased altogether. Today, a new wave of young creatives, media networks, and filmmakers across the continent are reclaiming these narratives.
With over 230 million inhabitants, Nigeria is a cultural and economic powerhouse of West Africa, rich in stories and unique perspectives. In this session, four Nigerian filmmakers will present their documentary projects in early development, reflect on the challenges of funding and distribution, and highlight why including African voices is vital to the future of global documentary storytelling.
