Sunny Side of the Doc and DocsConnect: A Partnership Moving Forward
In response to recent changes and evolving industry realities, Sunny Side of the Doc has chosen to adapt its forms of collaboration in order to continue supporting awarded project teams, while remaining true to its core values of talent development, knowledge sharing, and international exchange.
Sunny Side of the Doc and Taskovski #DocsConnect are therefore evolving their partnership into a new initiative, “Sunny Side x DocsConnect Forward”, centred on a mentorship-based approach. The programme offers more personalised support to projects previously awarded Sunny Side of the Doc prizes at partner markets, building on the shared experience and expertise developed over the years, notably through the involvement of Irena Taskovski, President and Founder of Taskovski Films and #DocsConnect, who has long supported documentary filmmakers through tailored development and mentoring programmes.
Through Sunny Side x DocsConnect Forward, selected projects will benefit from several hours of tailored mentoring, focusing on key areas such as project financing, international distribution, and the overall development tools needed to move their documentaries forward.

Taskovski #DocsConnect Training for Conscious Creative Leaders is an international, tailor-made professional training and networking hub led by award-winning industry experts. The program aims to empower conscious filmmakers and creative industry entrepreneurs to grow personally and professionally. The workshops and training cover development, the art of pitching, co-production, financing, publicity, marketing, impact strategies, outreach, and importantly, sessions on mental health prevention in film and media.
In addition to Sunny Side of the Doc, Taskovski #DocsConnect has training partnerships with Film Fund FilmKraft Norway, VestNorsk Filmsenter Norway, Nepalese Women Filmmakers Association, British Council, ChieDocs, DocsBarcelona, and more.
