The Chinese factual network CCTV9 has stepped in as a coproducer in France 2′s wildlife primetime doc A Wolf’s Journey, a €1.65 million long-form produced by French prodco Paprika Films in partnership with wildlife specialist Jacques Perrin’s Galatée Films, German channel SWR and French company Kwanza also acting as international distributor.
L’Odyssée du Loup (A Wolf’s Journey) tells the true story of a wolf who has travelled all over Europe, from Romania to Spain, in search of a new territory in which to live. The idea for the primetime 1×90’ blue-chip natural history documentary initially came from Galatée Films, whose president, Jacques Perrin, serves as exec producer of the documentary.
The coproduction deal is the first in which France 2 and CCTV9 has worked together on a solely French project, to be released by the end of 2018.
