Selected\u00a0through\u00a0Sunny Side\u00a0of\u00a0the\u00a0Doc\u2019s\u00a0proven expertise, <\/span>the 18 projects\u00a0showcase\u00a0Latin\u00a0America\u2019s\u00a0thriving\u00a0documentary\u00a0landscape\u00a0with\u00a060%\u00a0women-led\u00a0projects<\/span>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

LatAm\u00a0Content Meeting, <\/span><\/b><\/a>the industry event dedicated to the Latin American documentary and non-fiction content market, announces the 18 projects selected<\/strong> to take part in its 2026 pitching sessions. The application process, curation<\/strong>, and final\u00a0selection\u00a0were conducted for the second consecutive year by Sunny Side of the Doc, the international marketplace and community for documentary.<\/p>\n

Building on the resounding success of the inaugural edition, this second call for projects saw a significant increase in submissions from Latin American filmmakers, with a stronger presence of non-fiction projects<\/strong> produced and released within the region<\/strong>. Notably, 60% of the selected projects are led by women,<\/strong> highlighting their essential role in contemporary documentary storytelling. The 2026\u00a0selection\u00a0will bring new perspectives, powerful stories, and fresh voices to S\u00e3o Paulo, further strengthening the partnership between\u00a0LatAm\u00a0Content Meeting and Sunny Side of the Doc.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 18 selected projects are divided into three thematic categories, with six entries in each: Nature & Environment; Investigations & True Crime; and History. In total, 120 submissions from 20 countries were received, with two-thirds originating from Latin America and one-third from the rest of the world,\u00a0demonstrating\u00a0both the regional strength and international appeal of this pitching opportunity.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

According to Fernando Dias, <\/span><\/b>President of\u00a0LatAm\u00a0Content Meeting, the diversity<\/strong> and reach<\/strong> of the selected projects reflect the event\u2019s consolidation on the international stage. \u201cLatAm\u00a0Content\u00a0Meeting\u00a0is\u00a0establishing\u00a0itself as the leading international market event in Latin America. The pitch\u00a0selection\u00a0highlights the event\u2019s strong reach and success, with projects\u00a0submitted\u00a0from 20 countries. An international jury curated the projects, and during the event we will host pitch presentations for the world\u2019s leading industry players.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

The pitching sessions will also feature awards offered by partner companies, aimed at supporting the development of the winning projects in each category. In the Nature & Environment category,<\/strong> Input Post<\/a> will provide post-production services to the winning project, with a total value equivalent to R$35,000. In the Investigations & True Crime<\/strong> category, the award will be granted by The End<\/a>, which will offer conforming and color correction services, also valued at R$35,000. In the History<\/strong> category, the selected project will receive from Atelier Cultural<\/a> the composition of the documentary\u2019s main musical theme.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
