VR Village at Asian Side of the Doc

A new addition to Asian Side of the Doc this year is the “VR Village“, a space equipped with 10 Gear VR Headsets provided courtesy of Samsung Thailand, animated by AL Caudullo of Explore 360, and entirely dedicated to live demonstrations of VR technology through a variety of immersive stories and innovative formats.

Notes on Blindness – Into Darkness is a multi-platform interactive project created alongside the feature length documentary Notes on Blindness. These original diary recordings form the basis of this project, a six-part interactive documentary using new forms of storytelling, gameplay mechanics and virtual reality to explore his cognitive and emotional experience of blindness. Each scene will address a memory, a moment and a specific location from John’s audio diary, using binaural audio and real time 3D animations to create a fully immersive experience.

Come live a brand-new experience in the heart of one of the Jerome Borsch’s masterpiece painting, called “La tentation de Saint-Antoine” where his triptych become a virtual animated space. Thanks to 360°, allowing a complete immersion in the painting, the viewer is embarked in Bosch’s mindscape.


A Taste for risk

Testing all limits and risking their life, some athletes develop superhuman performances. They are surfers, climbers, skiers or divers and nothing is too dangerous when it comes to adrenaline. Thanks to the 360 shootings, the program invites you to be in their shoes and get ready for an adrenaline rush. An immersive experience for VR devices with Géraldine Fasnacht (freeride snowboarding and wingsuit flying), Amaury Lavernhe (bodyboard) and Guillaume Nery (constant weight apnea).
